Thank you for visiting my personal webpage!
I am an Fixed-Term Lecturer and Researcher at the School of Economics of the University of Edinburgh and a Research Affiliate at RF Berlin.
I am a labor economist working on topics in both labor and development economics. I am particularly interested in issues related to gender inequality, skill acquisition, and education.
I hold a Ph.D. in Economics from Boston University. I pronounce my name as [ˈse.saɾ].
I am on the 2025-2026 Economics Job Market.

- December 2025: I will be presenting our paper:
- On the interaction between education and skills at work at the EWMES 2025 in Cyprus.
- On the US academic market at SAEe 2025 in Barcelona.
- November 2025: our paper on faculty pay in US academia was accepted at the Review of Economics and Statistics.
- September 2025: The British Academy awarded us a BA/Leverhulme Small Research Grant to study the long-term effects of violent conflict on household decision making.
